LASER THERAPY

Veterinary Laser Therapy, perfect for any pet!

If your pet is displaying signs of  mobility issues, pain, wounds, fractures, and other limiting conditions …  our pet laser system is a fast-acting solution that’s made for any pet!

Laser Therapy is a sterile, pain-free, surgery-free, drug-free treatment option if your pet is feeling pain, has inflammation, or a wound. Believe it or not, the laser is used to treat a variety of injuries, wounds, fractures, neurological conditions, numerous dermatological problems, and pain. Veterinary Laser treatment has been shown to provide relief and speed healing, whether your pet is rehabilitating from trauma or injury, healing from wounds, or simply aging!

The laser light is transported through a handpiece to treat the focused area. No need to fret about what your pet feels as they will only feel a soothing warmth. In fact, during the treatment, many pets tend to relax, sort of like one would during a massage. The quick relief of pain will allow your pet to feel comfortable and any anxiety that your pet initially experienced will dissolve. Occasionally, angry cats will start to purr and dogs will fall asleep during their therapy session.

Treatment procedures are exclusive to each pet and condition. Hence, treatments will differ in time, complexity and cost. For some chronic patients, multiple areas will be treated during one laser treatment session. When appropriate, laser therapy can be used as a complementary adjunct to other treatment plans.

This is how pet laser therapy works: The veterinary laser therapy system sends photons, or packets of light energy, deep into tissue without damaging it. These photons are absorbed within the mitochondria of the cells and induce a chemical change called “photo-bio-modulation”. This light energy then inspires production of ATP in the cell. ATP is the fuel, or energy, cells need for repair and rejuvenation. Impaired or injured cells do not make this fuel at an optimal rate. Increased ATP production leads to healthier cells, healthier tissue, and healthier animals.

There are no known side effects with this treatment.

After Laser Therapy Treatment

When your pet comes home after laser therapy you could notice a change in activity. For some it might be increased activity and others may be more relaxed. This is due to the reduction in inflammation and pain relief.

At home all you need to do for your pet is to follow normal restrictions, dietary needs, and additional treatment protocols outlined by the veterinarian.

In essence, veterinary laser therapy provides relief. The fur does not need to be cut. Eye protection will be worn by the laser operator and anyone in a close proximity to the laser probe. The eyes of the animal will be protected as well. The clinician will gently pass the probe over the area of treatment to assure the laser is being delivered directly to that area.

You might wonder when you’ll begin to see improvement after the laser treatment. You could see relief in the first treatment as pain and inflammation are minimized. For example: better mobility for joint conditions, drying and healing of dermatological issues, faster healing for wounds and incisions, or your pet just seeming more relaxed and comfortable. For certain conditions, a sequence of treatments may be needed before you witness results due to the severity or complexity of the condition. Each pet is unique, and treatments are specific for your pet’s needs.
